Lalaly ("we", "us", "our") operates the Lalaly mobile application and the website lalaly.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

We may collect the following types of information:

Account information: email address, display name, and native language when you sign up or join our waitlist.
Usage data: learning progress, exercise completion, session duration, and feature interactions within the app.
Voice data: audio recordings during pronunciation exercises, processed for real-time feedback and not stored permanently unless you opt in.
Device information: device type, operating system, browser type, and language settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the Lalaly learning experience.
To personalize your learning path and difficulty levels.
To communicate with you about updates, features, and support.
To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve our content.

3. AI and Your Content

Lalaly does not use your content to train any AI model. When you use AI-powered features (pronunciation feedback, conversation practice, content analysis), your input is sent to third-party AI providers solely to process your request.

We use commercial API plans from these providers, which exclude training on user data. However, each provider operates under its own privacy policy and terms.

4. Third-Party Services & Sub-Processors

We use the following third-party services to operate Lalaly:

Infrastructure & storage

Supabase: database, authentication, and user account management.
Cloudflare: website hosting and content delivery (CDN).

AI providers

Google APIs: for authentication (Google Sign-In) and AI-powered content analysis. Google's use of your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Payments

Apple App Store / Google Play Store: in-app purchase processing. We never store payment card details.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication only. No tracking cookies, no analytics scripts, no third-party ad trackers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Voice recordings used for pronunciation feedback are processed in real-time and not stored beyond the session unless you explicitly opt in. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

9. Children's Privacy

Lalaly is designed for users of all ages. For users under 16, parental consent is required. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
